Chapter 14: Giovanni
August 20, Viridian City, 4:00

I actually knew Giovanni personally. About fifteen years ago when I was a young aspiring trainer I challenged his gym and beat every one of his predecessors. He was amazed at the power that I had shown. We battled. With his strength and trust with his pokemon, he easily overcame me. I was ashamed, but he told me not to worry, and that I had a lot of potential. He said that in a few years I would be able to roll over him like he had not put up a fight. I smiled and he made me feel better about my loss. And in three years I returned and beat him, earning his badge.
This is why I was here in Viridian, because he ran the only gym in town. Even if he was not there, I would probably be able to find out where he went. I saw the gym set the northern hill, and I hurried towards it quickly.
I walked up to the door and found that the front door was locked. If I wasn’t desperate, I would have walked away, but I needed to get my questions answered as soon as possible. I pulled out Gengar and released him. “Gengar, go inside and open up this door.” Gengar smiled and nodded, then walked right through the door as if it wasn’t even there.
I heard a chink and the door swung open. I stepped in, and let Gengar walk besides me. Things were dark and dusty, but I did see a small light shining in the back. I was cautious, and snuck past the maze of walls to reach it.
I turned the corner and I saw a candle on the ground with a man kneeling in front of it. It was Giovonni. He looked up as I entered, and said, “Ah, Darren Diamond, I remember you. Not only when you soundly triumphed over me, but also when I saw you in the paper for soundly triumphing over Groudon and Kyogre.” He grinned. “Please sit down with me. I was just meditating, but I would enjoy a conversation with such a legend much more.”
“Penny for your thoughts,” I said. He looked up to me, and I could see there was deep sorrow in his eyes. He began to tell me his story.
“Many years ago, I got started off on the wrong path. I had a good group of pokemon, and I was promising to be a great trainer. However, I had too much pride, and I treated my friends as tools to help me achieve greater things. Over time, I was able to form a team which would help me to take over the world, which would have been the extent of my power. You see, once a person has power, they are afraid to lose it, and that was true with me. I was the leader of Team Rocket, and with it I was able to lie and cheat my way to the top.” He looked at me and smiled.
“Recently however, when I was trying to kidnap pokemon and to sell them back to their owners for money, a kid about the age you were when we first met discovered this. He knew it was wrong to even want what I did, and he challenged me. I had no fear, but when he opened up his pokeballs I saw that he was a master, ever so young of a master but a master nonetheless. The bonds of friendship between him and his pokemon were so strong that I saw no way that I could win. I fled from him twice, abandoning my current plans so that I could start new ones and avoid this trainer. Funny how I could not beat such a small child.”
He bent over and shook his head. After that, he sat back up and looked me in the eyes. “Then, as I was running this gym about a year ago, ready to launch my most powerful plan yet, in reclaiming my weapon named Mewtwo and using him to take over the world, that one trainer came to stop me. I did everything I could to stop him, but he defeated me nonetheless. It was then that I realized the errors of my ways, and I realized that this young trainer was really speaking the truth. I didn’t run away from him this time, but I thanked him for saving me.
“I left Team Rocket to themselves, and within a month the entire group failed without their leader. Ever since then I have been deciding on what to do with the rest of my life. I have come to the conclusion to find my son which I had long ago.” The candle had almost burned out. Giovonni got to his feet and grabbed another candle from a cupboard, lit it, and set it on the floor next to the old one.
Giovonni wiped his hands. “My son, from what I have heard, has started off on the wrong path as well, so I am going to find him and save him from making the same mistakes that I had.” He shook his head again, and looked at me, “Well, I know you didn’t come from Blackthorn just to catch up on old times, what do you need my help for?”
After I had heard his story, it was hard to bring up the fact of Mewtwo as it was a part of his past that he was trying to forget, but I realized that I needed to ask him to save Mew and to save the world from Zapdos, Moltres, and Articuno. I started to speak. “What do about where Mewtwo lives now? It is very crucial that I find him.”
Giovonni’s smile turned to a frown. “Alas, I can not help you, for you will seek to use him as a weapon that will destroy the world and destroy yourself. I thought a trainer of your magnitude would understand that!”
“Giovonni!” I said forcefully, “I don’t want to use your clone as a weapon, but I wish to aid it to love Mew as its mother who gave him birth and raised him.” I explained the situation of Mew and her connection with the three legendary birds that were about to destroy the earth in their fight for supremacy.
Giovonni was astounded. “Why you? Why has the legendary Mew decided that you should be the one to save her from her solitude?”
“Many years ago, when I was seven, Mew saved me from inevitable death at the falls of Blackthorn. I feel like Mew trusts me because of the life debt I have to her,” I said, hoping that it was enough to convince Giovonni.
Giovonni looked at me. “I trust you. Mewtwo is in a very difficult to reach, in a cave near Cerulean City. At least, that is where we tracked him to after he escaped the genetic lab. He was searching for seclusion from the horrible people that wanted to harness his energy and use him as a weapon. He has no friends, as we endowed him with an uncompassionate heart. Go, Darren. You must find him and save us from the events that are about to transpire.”
I nodded. I turned to leave, but then turned back. “Thank you for everything, Giovonni. I hope that you find your son.” He smiled and told me goodbye. I left through the front door, and called Salamence from his pokeball.
“Its time to go to Cerulean City,” I said to Salamence. He roared triumphantly, and it made me laugh to see him brag of his power. I climbed on him bareback, and we shot towards the city of water, Cerulean.

Chapter 15: Mewtwo’s Companionship
August 20, Cerulean City, 9:30 P.M.

I sat upright in my bed at the Cerulean Pokecenter, thinking of what I was going to do. I had no plan, so I thought I would spend the night before I plunged into the cave where Mewtwo lived developing one. There was nothing I could think of for the moment, so I decided to sleep on it.
That night I had a strange dream. I saw myself walking into the cave, not knowing what would happen, but I was content, for I knew a plan would present itself. I saw many powerful pokemon around me, but they all ignored me seeing that I had a greater power with me than any of them. I stepped through the darkness with only my little light, and took small steps to the depths of the cave.
Eventually, I came to a large pedestal that seemed to have been raised from the earth itself. I saw a pokemon at the very top, and even though my vision was clouded, I knew it was Mewtwo. He noticed me and came flying down at me with psychic powers blazing. I shielded my eyes with my arms and a bright light overtook me.
I shot awake. I didn’t quite know the meaning of the dream, but I felt that if I was to go into the cave, I would probably not return. I turned and looked at the clock. 2:49 it read, and so I lay back down on my pillow to try and get more sleep. I tossed and turned, because every time I closed my eyes I saw Mewtwo, not clearly because I didn’t know what he looked like, come down with psychic fury towards me.
I had a restless night. I knew what I had to do, but I was afraid of the consequences. I knew Mewtwo was not the least bit afraid to kill a person, and I knew that he would not have a second thought after he did. I was so confused with what had to be done when I felt a soft peace come to me, soothing me. Thoughts came to me, and I knew it was Gardevoir speaking, ‘It will be alright. Go to the cave. Confront Mewtwo.’
With that reassurance I got up from my bed and clothed myself. I was ready, and I felt peace. After tightening my shoes, I went downstairs and picked up my pokemon. I stepped outside to see the beautiful sun begin to come over the edge of Mt. Moon. The sky seemed to be ablaze with the power of the morning. I stretched and took in the crisp morning air that was all around me. The whole town was still asleep, and I began my trek to the hills.
After a while of searching, I found the entrance to the cave. It was under a low overhang, and was very dark. I pulled out my small light and began to wander through it. After about fifty feet I came to cool, glassy water. I didn’t think it was shallow enough to cross, so I called Gyarados from his pokeball and released him in the water. He roared and squinted at the small light. His roar shook the cavern and made me stumble. I hushed him and climbed on his back.
Slowly and sleekly, like the sea serpent he was, Gyarados swam through the glassy water. I shined the light all around so that I could see what was there. I saw hundreds of Golbat on the ceiling of the cave, and every once and a while I’d see one of the rocks, either a Geodude or a Graveler get up and walk away.
After ten uneventful minutes we arrived at the other end of the large underground lake. I got off and called Gyarados back into his pokeball. I continued on foot. The place seemed like a maze of gigantic proportions, and I felt scared for a moment that I had taken the wrong way. However, for a second I felt something grasp my hand ever so slightly that I thought there was something about to attack me, but saw nothing. This hand lead me forward, into the maze. I realized it was Gardevoir, and I felt her presence.
I saw light ahead of me. Strange, I thought. No one has found a second entrance to this cave. I was perplexed. The hand left me, but I knew where to go now. I followed the light through a small tunnel and then I entered into a large cavern.
The cavern was perfectly circular, seemingly out of place in a cave that had so much debris strewn about. In the very center was the tall pedestal which I had seen in my dream. I felt a wave of fear wash over me, but then remembered that everything would be all right. I looked towards the top of the cavern, and saw that the light was coming from the top of the pedestal.
I started to climb, exactly as I had in my dream. The light at the top seemed to shift, and then left its mount and came down next to me. It was Mewtwo, but it was so bright that I couldn’t see exactly what it looked like. Its psychic powers were evidently very strong if it needed to expel them in such a manner. The light just stood next to me in the air, and I felt words in my head. It was Mewtwo speaking.
“Who dares to enter where I have come to wallow in pain and suffering?” he said to me. The voice was full of pain and sorrow. It almost brought a tear to my eye. “I wish that you would leave me alone. I do not wish to become the weapon of any person, even though that is my purpose.” It was as if not only his thoughts were upon me, but his feelings as well. The waves of emotion flooded over me, and I could see that this pokemon was truly sad because it could not love, nor be loved.
“I have come to teach you compassion and love,” I said. The words just jumped out from me, and I felt as if I didn’t even say them. It was strange; I almost didn’t believe it until Mewtwo’s light shook.
“And how would you, a lone pokemon trainer, ever dream to teach me compassion?” The remorse from his voice had turned to deep hatred. The genetic tampering with this pokemon had given it extremes in powers as well as emotions. “I know genetic science because I too want the same thing. To love would be wonderful, but to be loved would be the greatest. However, I can not love, and anything that tries to love me I must destroy, not because I want to, but because my genetic laws bind me to. I am a slave to the soul that was given me.”
After the words and emotions disappeared from my head, the light around Mewtwo dimmed. There I saw the pokemon whom was speaking to me. I could see very slight similarities between it and Mew. However, this pokemon was much taller, with a large vein jutting out from the back of its head connecting with the heart. His arms were long and narrow, not short and stubby like Mew’s. His face was disfigured and ugly, and his eyes glowed like hot embers.
I thought of a response, but I was at a loss for words. This threw Mewtwo into a rage. “You can’t even behold the hideous pokemon ever to walk the face of this planet, yet you think you can teach me emotion! You are a stupid human, like them all! Why do you tempt me with such thoughts of hope? I am the mistake, the MISTAKE! You have no idea what it is like to have been born of the perfect mother and yet never be able to love her back. I want to love, I really do, but I CAN’T! Don’t you see this?” He stuck out his hands, “These hands were not made to embrace or to love!” His powers shook the room. Large rocks began to fall from the ceiling.
“Genetics are so feeble when compared to the power of love,” I said. This time I knew where the words were coming from. I tried to stop her from doing it, but Gardevoir said the words, “I shall bestow my loving and caring spirit on you, so that you will be able to love!”
I felt Gardevoir leave me. Mewtwo got defensive against me, for he thought it was I who had spoken. The psychic powers that he had flamed around him in a spectacle of power. He rushed towards me as he did in my dream. I lifted up my arms to shield myself from the impact.
But it didn’t come. I opened my eyes to see Mewtwo looking up towards the ceiling. I looked up as well, and I saw the form of Gardevoir floating high above, gently drifting downward. The peace that Gardevoir always brought me came flooding back, and the whole room seemed to be filled with her power. She descended upon Mewtwo. She touched his lips as if ordering him to be silent, and then embraced him. With the embrace she faded into him, all the kindness and love that she was made of, not one speck of evil in her.
Mewtwo’s eyes opened wide, as if he had a greater understanding. His deformed lips curved up into a smile and he let out a laugh through his real mouth and not his mind and it echoed throughout the cavern. The joy he felt was radiant and I, seeing it, could not help but smile. Mewtwo floated into the air, his powers floating gracefully over his body and into the air. He had been cured, and he could now feel compassion and love for others.
“My friend!” he said and he floated down from the height of the cavern. “Thank you so much for bestowing this gracious gift upon me, for I can now feel love towards my mother!” Mewtwo reached his long arms around me and embraced me. I clasped my hands behind his back as well and we shared that tender moment for a long time.
“I’m free!” he said, and he let go and jumped back into the air. “Free of the horrible curse which the genetic scientists had placed on me. Free!”
I smiled, but then remembered why I had come, and felt extremely agitated. “Mewtwo!” I yelled. “We need to find your mother as quickly as possible. She is on the island that you were created on. The fate of the world depends on you and you alone!”
Mewtwo stopped his rejoicing and came down and touched me on the forehead. With the touch I floated into the air with him, and just hovered right next to him. He lifted his hands above his head and then dropped them to his side. As he did the world seemed to fall away from us, and we were together in dark nothingness. He raised his hands to his head again and the world jumped back at us, and I found that we were on the island that Mew had inhabited, right under the shadow of the genetic complex.
I instantly saw Mew sitting on a rock watching us with her sad face. Mewtwo looked at his parent and they stared at each other for a long time. I didn’t know what kind of conversation was going on or if there was any communication at all. Then they both rose into the air at the same time.
“Mother! Mother! I love!” Mewtwo said with joy. The warmest emotions took over my soul as I saw them embrace each other and weep. I couldn’t hear Mew’s thoughts, but Mewtwo’s were clear as a bell.
“Mother, I love, I love you!”

Chapter 16: Legendary Squall
Hidden Island, August 21, 10:30 A.M.

All of a sudden, my phone rang. I tore my eyes away from the scene of love between mother and son and switched it on. Eve’s face appeared on the screen, and I could tell that something was terribly wrong. Static danced across the screen and the room I saw her in was shaking.
“Darren!” her voice shrieked over the phone. I could see living fear in her eyes. “An enormous thunderstorm seems to have stopped right above us. There are gigantic towers of lightning all around us. The weather institute is being destroyed. We need you he-”. The screen went dark. I shook the phone, and the screen came back on. It was a white screen that had nine letters on it, MISSINGNO.
I dropped the phone in terror. It was the glitch, the very thing which Eve had told me about. The phone exploded as it hit the ground, and shards of plastic and metal went flying everywhere in a cloud of smoke.
“Mewtwo, Mew! We need to get to the Hoenn Weather institute as quickly as possible. The legendary birds are beginning to reap their destruction!” I yelled. Their dance of love and companionship ended, and floated down on either side of me. With their hands they lifted me into the air.
“We shall save this earth. My powers will be used for good, as I want them to be.” Mewtwo said. Mew and Mewtwo gripped my arms tighter as we floated higher and higher above the island. Then, instantaneously, the world began to turn underneath us. I knew that it was us that were speeding, but because Mew and Mewtwo were always next to me, it looked as if the earth was turning and we were standing still.
As we slowed down I noticed that the air was really cold. Dark clouds were all around us, and snow began falling very hard. I looked upwards and barely glimpsed Articuno, the bird of ice flying high above. Mew and Mewtwo ignored it however, and we headed straight for the Weather Institute.
As soon as I saw the building I noticed the amount of lightning that was striking near it. Mew took my hand and pulled me away from Mewtwo, while Mewtwo flew towards the Weather Institute. He stood atop the building and lifted up his hands. Immediately a large psychic shield surrounded the building. I saw lightning bolts glance off the shield. I also noticed that the building was beginning to repair itself as I saw Mews eyes glowing.
I heard Mew’s thoughts in my head, “My son is luring in the legendary pokemon. I can only bestow my blissful spirit upon them if they are weak and unable to move. Look!”
I looked up into the middle of the storm and I saw a great figure of a bird descend from the sky. It was yellow and spiky, like the lightning it wielded at the end of its wingtips. The lightning no longer came from the clouds, but from the Zapdos itself. The thunderbolts were five times as wide as the regular lightning bolts, and they seemed to weaken the shield with every hit they made.
“It’s a trap,” Mew said. “My son could hold that shield up with his eyes closed. He wants Zapdos to think it is doing a good job so that it will come in closer.”
And Mew was right. When Zapdos was practically perched on the shield, the shield disappeared and Mewtwo flew straight up towards the Thunderbird. Zapdos dove towards him as well, lightning flying off of its wings like a thundercloud. The two collided, or so it looked like. Mewtwo pushed Zapdos backward with his mind, and the bird went flying through the air. Then, Mewtwo held out his hands and began to glow a deep purple. The energy waves from his hands shot towards Zapdos and the bird couldn’t take it. With a screech that could have been heard around the world, Zapdos fell to the ground. It quivered a little, and then collapsed.
Immediately the thunderstorm stopped, and the sun began to shine. But the sunshine didn’t feel very hot, because it soon got very windy. Mew produced a small shield around us so that we were protected from the wind. I looked for the pokemon which was causing it, and I didn’t have to look long.
I had to shield my eyes, because the blazing bird Moltres came flying through the air right above us. The wind stoked its body so that it burned brighter than the sun. A twister of fire enveloped the bird, and it was truly magnificent to behold. It saw Mew and I in the shield, and dove towards us. Mew dropped me, and flew off to meet the challenger.
As I floated in the air I realized that I wanted to help these two pokemon in their battle. I called Salamence from his ball. He stumbled through the air at first since he wasn’t used to coming out in midair, but he regained his balance and flew up to me, and I sat on his neck. I called Espeon and Gengar from their balls as well, and I had Espeon balance herself on Salamence’s head and Gengar to balance on Salamence’s tail. We were a tank of pokemon, flying through the air.
As Mew proceeded to fight Moltres, I steered Salamence towards the gigantic bird as well. It looked at us with an evil eye and shot a stream of fire that was about ten feet wide, like nothing I had ever seen before. Espeon deflected it with her psychic powers; she had seen the attack coming. Gengar shot shadow balls at the Moltres, but it only seemed to annoy it. It shot another stream of magma, but Salamence avoided it with a barrel roll. Salamence swooped down and slashed Moltres across the face with glowing claws, which was his signature move. Salamence’s had came away burnt, but Moltres’s face had three claw marks across it. It did not look happy. Right before it hit us with another stream of fire, Mewtwo and Mew got in the way and blocked it with their shields.
Mewtwo and Mew had surrounded the Moltres, and there was an evident look of fear in its eyes. A zap of psychic energy flowed through both the mother and the son, and Moltres fell in a heap of fiery feathers, about ten feet from Zapdos. The wind stopped, and Moltres’s body became the regular fire orange color that it was when it was not on fire.
The cold that I had felt when we had first arrived came back to me. Suddenly, enormous hailstones the size of bowling balls began to fall through the air. A few almost hit me and my pokemon, but Gengar and Espeon were good enough with their attacks that none hit us. I looked down at the Weather Institute and saw that there was a large group of people outside. They are in danger, I thought.
Suddenly they all disappeared, right in front of my eyes. It was only then that I realized that Mewtwo could read my thoughts, just as Gardevoir had been able to. The bond I had shared with my beloved Gardevoir was now exactly the same with Mewtwo, since they were one and the same together now.
I looked towards the sky and saw a large blue beam shoot downwards from the heavens, towards Mewtwo. Mewtwo skillfully dodged it, and it hit the ground and the entire area turned to ice, trees and all. The bird which launched it, Articuno, followed shortly afterwards. With elegance unparalleled, it dove towards its two enemies, firing beams of ice and chilling the air around them. Mewtwo and Mew didn’t seem to mind however, and soon Articuno was on the ground, twitching and then finally stopping as if it was dead.
The weather subsided immediately, and the sun began to shine normally, completely unhampered with. Mewtwo embraced Mew, and together they landed on the ground in the middle of the fallen birds, which had fallen in a triangle around them. I steered my Salamence downwards and landed just beside Moltres and Articuno. I turned and looked at Mew, wondering what it was going to do.
Mew put her hands to her mouth and began to giggle. The carefree spirit of Mew was shown in its tiny little body, as if happiness were the only thing there was to care about in the entire world. The three birds lifted their heads, as if trying to hear the laugh. Although I could not understand their body language, I knew they were happy as well.
Mewtwo raised his hands, and the birds lifted into the air. Blue energy flew from his fingertips to the birds, and they regained their energy. The torrential weather didn’t come back, but the three pokemon danced through the skies, happy and carefree. They didn’t seek for power anymore, because they were blinded by their own happiness.
Mewtwo took Mew’s hand in his, and they began to fly away. “Wait!” I yelled. He turned towards me.
“You will always know where to find me when you need me, for I will be with you when you are most desperate. And your wonderful friend Eve is at the Maulville Pokemon Center with the rest of the people I teleported their.” I saw Mewtwo’s smile on his face, just before he turned. “Thank you Darren Diamond, for returning the favor that my mother gave to you so long ago. You have truly saved my life.” And with that, the two legendary pokemon shot off towards the horizon.

I flew towards Maulville to find Eve. Sure enough, there was a crowd of confused people, some citizens of Maulville, others recently teleported their. With some difficulty I found Eve. She was just as confused as everybody else, trying to make her way through the crowd. She saw me, and our eyes locked. I ran up to her, and she ran to me.
“Are you all right?” I asked. She nodded and fell into my arms, exhausted. I pulled her chin up and looked her in the eyes. She smiled and embraced me, so happy to see me and that I was with her. I hugged her back, and it was that moment that I realized I truly loved her. I realized that it was time to stop my lifelong journey and settle down with the woman I loved. I raised her chin again and tenderly kissed her lips.
I realized that life is too short to not be with the people you love. I married Eve and we moved to my house in Blackthorn City. Life was very good to us. We had three children that grew up and became trainers themselves. When I was 45, and all of our children had moved out, I was ready for a vacation. I wanted to see the places that lead me to Eve, and she agreed to go with me. We planned a little trip to Ecruteak City. Little did I know the events which were to happen when we arrived there.

Chapter 17: Unfrozen Statues
Ecruteak City, July 7, 5:30 A.M.

I got out of bed. The dream I just had was amazing, about something that was about to happen. I went to the desk that was in our room and proceeded to write a note to Eve when she woke up. She was used to Mewtwo sending me places, so she wouldn’t mind in the least. I wrote the note as quickly as I could.

Dearest Eve,
I had another dream tonight. In it I was walking up to the ruins of the burned down tower, for there was someone I was supposed to meet there. This person had a ball the size of a pokeball, and it looked like an enormous dew drop. The name Soul Dew came to my mind as I saw it. This person had a Pikachu with them, and then we went into the building together. I also saw someone going to Eon Island as well. I must investigate.
Yours truly,
Darren

I left the note on the desk, quickly got dressed in my trainer uniform, and then left the building. The sun was barely peeking over the mountains. I hurried towards the burnt down building, which was just north of the town. After a small jog I found myself at the base of the building.
As I arrived I didn’t see the trainer that I saw in my dream. In fact, no one could be seen, it was just me. I walked up to the building, or what remained of it, and I tried to imagine Lugia falling from the skies like it did the last time I saw it. I imagined the lifeless body flying out of the air and crashing into this wreck of a building.
“Yo!” I heard from behind me. I turned and saw the trainer. She was very young, a teenager I could tell, with brown hair pulled up into a pony tail. She also had a Pikachu perched on her shoulder.
“Hello,” I said. “I was told that I was to meet you here. What is your name? I didn’t have the pleasure of knowing that.”
“I’m Rinoa. I’m roaming around for fun. I met an old geezer in the mountains that had only his head out of his coffin and he asked me to take the Soul Dew and told me that the answer was here. And-,” she paused to kick the Pikachu which was drawing(with a marker and whiteboard) an old man with only his head out of his coffin Dracula style. “This is my eccentric Pikachu, Felix. He is one pain in the ***. Try having meals with him just once. Are you the answer that geezer was talking about?”
“No, I’m not the answer,” I said to her, thinking that she was pretty rude to make fun of the dead. “But I can provide the solution. Follow me.” I heard some kind of scratching noise, so I turned around and saw the Pikachu writing something on a white board. I saw Rinoa smack Felix across the back of the head, as if he had written something that wasn’t supposed to be written. I chuckled, I could tell they liked each other, but it was a love hate relationship.
I led the pair into the building, careful of the rubble and debris. I could hear Pikachu and Rinoa behind me, fighting about something, but I didn’t care about what. We went down a burnt staircase that apparently had not been crushed by the Lugia falling. I told Rinoa to watch her step, and we carefully descended the staircase.
It was dark at the bottom, and I was about to pull out my keychain light, but Felix took care of it for me. He was a very smart Pikachu, and pulled out a light ball that he carried on him, one that stored electrical energy he didn’t use, and it began to glow and lit up the entire room. As my eyes adjusted to the sudden light in the room, I saw the room and what was in it.
It was evident that Lugia had not fallen this far through the building, because everything was basically untouched. It was a large room with ancient designs throughout it. There were also three enormous statues of pokemon there, all which looked like big dogs or cats. It was evident to see that they represented fire, water, and electricity just because of the patterns on them and the way they looked. However they were motionless and colorless. I wondered if they had been made from the very same stone that Groudon and Kyogre had been made of.
I looked towards the center of these three beasts and saw there was a small pillar with a small indent in it. I walked up to it, and I realized that this is where the Soul Dew was supposed to go. “Rinoa, bring the Soul Dew here.” I said. She quickly and quietly did so.

“Oh my ******* ***, I don’t ^^^^ ********* like this,” wrote the Pikachu.

Rinoa looked like she wanted to bash him up, but smacked him on the back of the head.
“Too much could go wrong, but I’m ready for whatever happens, even if it comes to battling these beasts, though I know I would lose.” I said to them.

“What the ****!? These guys’ll bow down to me. I am the power!” wrote the proud Pikachu.
I laughed. “Legendary pokemon are either amused or annoyed by the pitiful attacks that regular pokemon do, unless they are extremely powerful.”
Then without warning, the room began to shake. I turned and saw that Rinoa had put the Soul Dew on the pillar without me giving consent. I heard three crashes around me and I saw that the statues had fallen off of their platforms. They began to move and shake the sleep from their eyes. Color was restored to their granite bodies.
They all let loose an enormous roar together, and I put my hands to my ears. The ceiling shook and finally broke apart. I barely had time to see Felix launch an array of thunderbolts towards the water pokemon, who I remembered from the legends as being Suicune, purifier of the waters. The Suicune groaned under the power of the lightning, and shot out a pillar of water from its mouth. I would have bet my life that the water would have killed Felix if I hadn’t sent out my Espeon and told it to deflect the beam of water.
Then without warning, the other two pokemon leaped out of the building and started running away, leaving Suicune with us for us to battle. My Espeon had grown over the years, but I still wasn’t sure to if she could handle a two on one battle with a Suicune.
It was easy to see that Suicune was extremely ticked off. It charged the two pokemon so fast that wind began to trail behind it. Suicune ran past and the wind knocked both Felix and Espeon down.
“Felix, thunder!” Rinoa yelled.
“Helping hand Espeon!” I yelled to my Espeon. Espeon began to glow and the Thunder that came off of Pikachu, increased in size by the light ball, began to grow even larger and were completely accurate. They were about to strike Suicune all over its body, but all of a sudden the bolts of lightning were sucked out of the building and away. Suicune eyed the two pokemon smiling. With a final jump, it leaped out of the building and began to run away very fast. I called Espeon back into her pokeball, and Felix returned to Rinoa’s shoulder.
“What the **** was that all about?” Rinoa said in surprise. I glared at her.

“I coulda screwed these guys like all the sucker pokemon in the wild grass with mah limbs tied up, eyes blindfolded, ears stuffed, mouth gagged, nose covered, tail severed in one second IF a certain guy didn’t interfere.” He glared at me. Rinoa did a vicious kick that made her foot rise from overhead and crash down on the Pikachu’s skull so hard it drove him into the ground.
“This is not good,” I said, ignoring the two. “Bring the Soul Dew; I have an old friend I have to see about this.” We hurried out of the building (Felix picked himself up from the crater from the impact) and continued along an old dirt trail that I had traveled many years ago. I came to the building of Ho-oh’s roost. The two silent guards were still outside. It made me wonder what they did all the time.
Remembering me, they let me in. I hurried up the stairs with Rinoa to the place were Atama Ga Ii was. He was the only one I knew who not only believed in the legends, but could also tell me what to do.
As soon as I got to the top, I found my old friend. He was very old now, and I could tell by the look on his face that he was afraid of something. “Come,” he said.
“Who’s dat foo? What the **** is he doing here?” wrote the Pikachu. Rinoa grabbed him by the ear and looked like she intended to throw him out of the window but threw him on the ground instead and performed the same vicious kick. Felix picked himself up again to follow after Rinoa, Atama and I.

Atama led us into the room with millions of scrolls. He began to read from one of them.
“Awaken not the beasts of water, lightning, or fire, for when the three beasts of the Tower of Lugia are awakened, they will run away from their powers out of fear. They each have the power to clean and strengthen the element they are a part of, so every element will strive to come to them and be purified. Lightning will reach down from the sky to touch Raikou, the beast of electricity. Magma and fires will rush to be with Entei, the beast of fire. All lakes and rivers will flow towards Suicune, the beast of water. The three beasts will run away from these things, and so the elements will flow across the land, destroying everything in their path. The only way to stop them is to have the souls that were given to them by any pokemon taken away, so that they will become lifeless again.”
Atama looked me in the eyes, and then took me to the window. Just as he opened it I saw Ho-oh swoop down from its roost and begin flying towards the ground where strange things were happening. I saw magma coming out of a nearby mountain, something that seemed almost impossible. I also saw the lake of Ecruteak rushing away, as if someone was pulling it away with a long string. I also saw dark thunderclouds begin to gather and saw lightning striking at the ground in one specific place.
I heard Rinoa gasp when she saw the sight of absolute destruction. Even Felix seemed to be humbled by the sheer power of the elements combined. I realized there was only one thing to do.
I called out Espeon. I reached into my backpack and after looking for a long time I found a small boat ticket that had the words Eon Island printed on it. I gave it to Rinoa. “Rinoa, my Espeon is going to take you to Lilycove. You probably haven’t been there before, but you need to find the harbor and then give the ticket to any sailor, and they’ll be happy to take you to that island. There are two pokemon there that will help you when you show them the Soul Dew.”

“How did you know?” Rinoa asked. The pikachu’s expression went blank for a moment, like falling asleep with your eyes open. Then he was back again, the little pain in the neck.

“A good friend told me,” I said as I thought of Mewtwo. I thought why Mewtwo didn’t come and save the world. Then I realized that we were working with souls, and Mewtwo, in all his power, could only make those pokemon faint, but could not remove their souls like the two pokemon Latios and Latias on Eon Island could. I knew he would try to prevent the disasters from getting out of hand like Ho-oh was now doing and I knew that many legendaries would be doing the same.
“Espeon, take Rinoa to Lilycove, and be careful.” I said. Espeon’s eyes began to glow, and in an instant they were gone. I said goodbye to Atama and hurried down the stairs. I was going to do the best that I could to help this, but I knew that the entire fate of the world was in Rinoa’s hands. She was our last hope.

Chapter 18: Double Trouble
Ecruteak City, July 7, 12:25 P.M.

It was an awesome sight. There was destruction everywhere showing where the three beasts had run away. The skies were growing dark, and I looked into the sky and saw masses of legendary pokemon come together in the sky, apparently gathering to do everything they could to stop these three beasts from destroying the entire earth.
I saw Lugia joined together with Ho-oh, both together in their mighty glory. I saw Rayquaza high above, with the small figure of Deoxys by its side. Mewtwo was there, with two or three Mew’s. The legendary birds Zapdos, Moltres, and Articuno were there with the spirit of Mew, ready to fight. Jirachi had apparently been awaken by the Regis, and was flying along with the rest of the pokemon. The Regis themselves were on the ground beneath them, but were tall enough to break the tree line and were perfectly visible. This would be a battle to end all battles. I turned my thoughts towards Rinoa and Felix. If they failed it would be the end of the world.
I needed to witness this for myself. After I had sent Rinoa to Eon Island, I came back to Ecruteak so that I could save Eve from the destruction that was happening. I found her just in time to save her from the ruins of the pokecenter. Raikou had run right past it and a large thunderbolt set the place ablaze. I called Salamence from his pokeball and climbed onto his back along with Eve. We flew into the slew of legendary pokemon, who were apparently making a plan.
While the pokemon discussed what was to be done in a language that I could not comprehend, Mewtwo flew down to me and greeted me. I asked him, “Why did you lead me to that place with that trainer if you knew that the world would be put in jeopardy?”
I saw the odd smile of Mewtwo’s creep across his deformed face, and I could tell that Gardevoir was trying to tell me something through his mind. “Darren, you can only see one side of the canvas of life. You must understand all that happens in the Netherworld, the place that we go when we die. You see destruction, pain, and agony, while we on the other side see life, prosperity and beauty. All that is destroyed comes in its full form to the Netherworld, and it is a wonderful time. When things in your life grow well, the forms in the Netherworld leave to strengthen the new things growing in the real world. However, this does not answer your question.
“The real reason that you were to call upon the ancient statues was to fulfill your purpose in life. The other trainer had this same calling, to bring the legends together to save the world. If anyone but you two would have placed the Soul Dew on the altar, then the world would have had no chance. However, because you have worked through the years to become a pokemon master, you were able to gain each of the legends trust so that they would fight for you. And I am you, bonded with you forever, and I will lead these pokemon into battle.
“There is balance in all things, even life.” Mewtwo, or rather Gardevoir, winked at me. “And now it is time to save the world from complete destruction, for we can not rid ourselves of one world or another. The time has come!”
Mewtwo clapped his hands together and a burst of psychic energy came from them, which was evidently a signal to the other legendary pokemon. They flew off towards the rampaging dogs, in an attempt to slow their destruction. I ordered Salamence to fly off in the same direction, but we were very slow compared to them that the battle had begun before we had arrived.
Mewtwo advanced on the Entei. With psychic powers blazing he fell from the sky and shocked the Entei to the ground. It fell with a thud that shook the ground enough that it was visible. It looked as if the beast had died. Before Mewtwo could enjoy his victory however, magma that had overflowed from the ground approached and engulfed the Entei, yearning for Entei’s purifying powers. The lava rejuvenated Entei, and he jumped from the lava only to run again, spreading destruction even more places.
It was then that I realized the three pokemon Entei, Suicune, and Raikou were running all over the globe, and were bringing the world to its knees. Whenever a legendary used an attack that was water, fire, or electricity based, they would follow the dog of that element. Physical attacks were used mainly, but still the elements would rush to aid their purifiers.
I saw the Suicune, racing away in a different direction, pulling lakes and rivers behind it that destroyed a couple of villages. I nudged to Salamence to go into a dive, and we shot towards the ground at a speed that matched Suicune. Eve held tightly around my waist, as this was very terrifying. “Salamence, slash that beast!” I yelled. I gripped a Great ball from my belt. I had a plan, and I hoped it would work.
Salamence’s dive, combined with the strength of his arm, knocked Suicune to the ground. It twitched unexpectedly, as if it was trying to recover from its nerves being shaken up. I threw the Great ball that I was holding at the Suicune. The massive form of Tyranitar appeared.
“Use your earthquake powers!” I yelled to Tyranitar. She nodded conformation and stomped on the ground. An enormous fault popped out of the ground at the incoming waves that were all around. It was to be a barricade.
The waters crashed against the land that had been raised up. Lakes and rivers were being held up by my Tyranitar, just in her mind. However, it was very hard for her to continue. I could see her face was cringing from the weight that she was holding back with her mighty hands and powers.
Then the worse thing happened. The water pushed through the earth that Tyranitar was holding up. The water pushed onto Tyranitar, and I could see the enormous pain that it was in. I called her into her pokeball so that she could be safe.
I looked on helplessly as the water rushed towards the fallen Suicune. I thought all was lost, until I saw something fall from the sky. Two pokemon, blue and red in color, were shooting towards the Suicune as well. I saw Rinoa on the blue one and saw Felix and Espeon on the red one. These were the two pokemon Latias and Latios, the soul masters.
I saw that each of the pokemon held a Soul Dew, the object of calling a soul in or out of a creature. The water was about to touch and revive the fallen pokemon when the two pokemon flew down and touched the pokemon with their Soul Dews. Suicune let out a roar that echoed throughout the earth, and then fell silent. It turned to stone, and the waves which once had so much power just fell lifeless on the ground.
I flew down next to Rinoa with a smile on my face. Espeon jumped off of the Latias and onto Salamence. “Way to go!” I yelled. “We fought them off. Let’s get to the others and save this world from complete destruction.” Rinoa nodded, and with her two new friends she flew off. I could not even keep close to them, but I tried nonetheless. When I realized it was hopeless, I told Espeon to teleport us to them to keep up with them.
The calming of the other pokemon was more or less the same as the Suicune. The legendary pokemon aided in holding off the lightning and magma while Latias and Latios touched their Soul Dews to the fallen pokemon, which were knocked out by the legendaries as well. The legendary birds dive bombed the two pokemon, and once they had fallen the Regis would beat the pokemon and hold off the magma and the lightning. The elements were finally calmed, and the legendary pokemon breathed a sigh of relief.
I heard words in my mind, “It was a beautiful day in the Netherworld.” Mewtwo and Gardevoir said to me. “But it was a horrible day in our world.

Chapter 19: A Ruined Earth.

The Mews that were there used their psychic powers to take the statues together back to the burned down building and put them in their original places. Then, the legendaries gathered together in front of the Regis. They came together and made a revelation, just like they had for me in the Unown Cavern. I saw with them the entire world from space. There were large scars across the earth which the magma, lightning, and water had caused.
I saw my town of Blackthorn with a large slab of magma running through it. I saw the city Sootopolis drowned with water. There were many of the people sitting on rafts that had been made hastily. There were some unknown cities that had scars of where lightning had come through and torn down buildings. It had been the ultimate destruction, one that the world would never forget.
The Regis ended their revelation and walked off. It was amazing how those three titans could move with such large bodies. They headed for the Unown ruins, and they took Jirachi with them. The things that they had shown me were incomprehensible. The world had literally been destroyed.
I turned and looked at the onslaught of legendary pokemon that were in my midst. They had fought a good fight and were extremely tired. Jirachi had fallen asleep again, for waking up so much in the last few years must have been so overbearing that it could not use its full potential powers. I saw Deoxys, who had apparently been learning about human culture from Rayquaza, because it had a human friend with him. I smiled when I saw that it was my very own daughter.
There were other humans among the midst of these awesome creatures. Other than Eve and me, I saw Lance the dragon tamer, as well as Giovonni who was speaking with Mewtwo. A young trainer was standing next to Giovonni who had long red hair. I wondered if this was his son that he had spoken so highly of.
Rinoa was there with Latias and Latios, the Grim Reaper pokemon, who had joined the slew of legendaries. It seemed as if through all of these things that Rinoa and Felix hadn’t changed one bit.
I saw Archie and Maxie there as well; the disturbance had evidently brought them to Ecruteak City. It was amazing how in touch these people were with nature. It was as if they could feel the slightest disturbance in anything that went wrong. They were watching the legendary birds with awe, for the bird’s joyful spirit had come back and they were dancing gracefully through the skies.
It was a sad celebration however. The world had literally been destroyed. The damage that was done would never heal, but we would have to adapt to what had happened and press forward, or we would never be able to truly live. One by one, the legendary pokemon left the sad place where the three beasts were laid to rest.
I turned to Eve, “Well, I think it is time to go home now. We never can really have a vacation as disaster seems to follow us wherever we go.”
She smiled a sad smile, and with that we flew to our home in Blackthorn.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Everything was a mess. When we arrived we saw that the magma flow ended about halfway through our house. So many priceless things were gone for good, things that we held close to our hearts all those years. Photographs of children growing up and the toys they used to play with were burned down with the rest of the house. It was a very sad sight, to see all that we had built up be taken from us in the blink of an eye. It made me completely depressed just by looking at it.
There was ash and soot everywhere. Smoke was still coming off of the timbers of the house. Many houses looked like this, and the smoke drifted up to the heavens. Eve and I began to look through the debris to see if anything was salvageable.
As we stepped over the rubble of the burnt down house, I stumbled a little. Barely catching myself, I found myself looking at the old picture of Gardevoir and me. I was amazed that it was still there, and that it had survived the fire.
It was then that I realized that it was the doing of Gardevoir herself, and that she had saved that picture just for me. The feelings of depression left me. Homes can be rebuilt, memories can be remade, and my family was safe, that was all that mattered to me. For the first time that entire day, I smiled.
I found a few more things that I had saved scattered around the ruins of the house; torn photographs, a piece of the Ultra Ball which I used to capture Groudon in, and a few of my Gym Badges. These things were so dear to me, and I thanked my guardian angel Gardevoir for saving them for me. I picked up my few treasures and placed them in my jacket where I had held Gardevoir so long ago, near to my heart.
Eve had found a few items that were precious to her as well, and we showed the things which we had found to each other. She had found her old glasses that she had when she first met me, some pages from her favorite books, and an old photograph of her parents. I put my arm around her and just felt great that the biggest treasure that I had in the world was completely unharmed.
She fingered a small paper in her hands. I took it from her gently, and found out that it was a poem that she had written after the incident with Ho-oh and Lugia, but it applied more to this circumstance than that one had. I read it out loud.

When Everything Goes Wrong
When a sailor is upon the sea,
There is nothing that he fears,
Even when the ocean roars,
He stares back and he sneers.

Yet when the waters take his boat,
And pull it beneath the waves,
He does not swim or flee away,
But with the boat he stays.

And so it is with life and love,
And friendship in every way,
We must stay strong, we must go on,
And work hard day to day.

For a sailor can’t live without his ship,
Or we without our friends,
We must keep our honor strong,
And stay together until the end.

For we must do all that we can,
When we feel we do not belong,
For a true man is the one who can smile,
When Everything Goes Wrong.

The poem brought tears to my eyes. It was so true, that we must work together no matter what had happened. What else could we do? We had to move on and smile while we did it, for how else could we rise as a people. And with that I helped Eve up and we began to clean the wreckage.

Chapter 20: Celebi’s Future
Blackthorn Falls, July 10, 7:30 P.M.

Here I was, sitting on the hill on which my life as a pokemon master had begun, right next to the falls that were crashing on the rocks below. Eve was sitting right next to me. We had cleaned up the most of the rubble that remained of our house, but the town was still recouping from the intensity that the magma had brought upon them. As we looked out towards the town, I spoke to Eve.
“Eve,” I said, “It’s amazing, all of the things that we have been through, all the ups and downs, we have come to be better friends. And even though we have all of this destruction to still recover from, with a little hard work we will move onward. It’s the mission of the human race, no matter how hard we are suppressed; we always manage to come back out on top.”
Eve smiled. “Spoken by a true genius,” she said. I put my arm around her and we started to watch the sun set. As it lowered beneath the horizon, the sky did not get dark. This is unusual, I thought. All of a sudden, I saw Eve look straight up and gasp. My eyes followed her gaze, and I saw an amazing sight.
There were two pokemon descending from the sky. One I recognized as the legendary Ho-oh, burning brighter than when I saw it at its roost in Ecruteak. The other was a small green pokemon that I had never seen in real life, but had seen in sketches and ancient rock paintings. It was called Celebi, the pokemon of time.
Ho-oh unfurled its wings and stretched out wide. Every color of the rainbow was seen in its wings, and they flowed from its body out, and it was truly a spectacular sight. The entire valley was lit up, and the falls looked like a rainbow themselves because of the immensity of light which was shown everywhere. The light was so brilliant and so perfect that it struck the very fibers of the human heart and filled the soul with joy and true happiness that words could not describe.
Then something that I would have never imagined happened. The colors in the air and the fire in the sky all came together towards Ho-oh. The came together in a burning ball of energy, and it all disappeared in an instant, and Ho-oh was gone. All that remained was ash, and it rained upon the ground in a small cluster. Looking at the ash, I saw a small bird stick its head out, and flutter off.
I had only heard of this experience happening. There were magnificent trainers that were truly good and loved by all people and pokemon alike, and when they had reached the point of excellence, Ho-oh would appear before them and show them its true colors, then die and become reborn. I was honored to see Ho-oh in all of its glory, and was pleased that it would come to me for this blessed experience.
The remaining pokemon, Celebi, came down towards us. It smiled, and then lifted us off the ground with its psychic powers. When Eve and I had floated up next to the legendary pokemon, it grasped our hands and I saw the world begin to speed up, as if someone pressed fast forward on time.
All at once I saw buildings everywhere in Blackthorn leap from the ground. The city was back, and was looking better than when it was destroyed. I saw other cities all rebuild themselves as if it was by magic. I saw cities expand and technology increase. When time stopped, we were thousands of years in the future, and the destruction which we had been so concerned with was completely forgotten.
Celebi froze time and began to show us the entire world. Life seemed so different, since everything Eve and I had been familiar with was now long gone. We looked at cities the size of mountains, and saw the changes in the terrain. Eve and I were amazed that the world was able to recoup from such a disaster. The land had been altered just a little; I saw the continents were farther apart that they had been. People and pokemon lived in harmony with each other, and the world was all but perfect.
The voice of Celebi came into my mind. “This is the future which you have built up. Your good friend Mewtwo saw this. Without the destruction that you unleashed, the world would have taken a different turn...” I saw the world swirl around us and then beheld a world of complete destruction. “It is amazing how the small actions which take place in a short amount of time can be the deciding point of the entire future. Your heroics and power were the focal point of these two worlds.”
I looked again and saw hollowed out buildings from what looked like an all out war between humans and pokemon which had left all dead. Celebi spoke to me again. “People will scoff and blame you for the destruction which has happened in their time, but that doesn’t matter, because now you know that your action and your action alone were what changed the future from absolute destruction to a world of peace and tranquility.”
Then everything disappeared from view and the world that we knew came back into place. The psychic powers that held us brought us down to the ground gently. Celebi smiled at us, and then flew off. I turned and looked at Eve, and we both smiled. The experience was something that we would keep to ourselves, and not share with anyone, not even our beloved children.

Chapter 21: Epilogue
Blackthorn City, February 28, 6:30 P.M., Seventy years later.

“Well, that’s the majority of it,” a slender young man said to a group of movers. “Grandfather would be sorry to see that we sold his old house, but we need the money now more than ever, and Blackthorn is prime real estate.”
The walls of the ancient house were bare and the rooms empty. Darren Diamond’s grandson walked through the hallway, checking each room to make sure that it was empty. Coming to the last room at the end of the hall, he reached his grandfather’s bedroom. He stepped inside, looking for anything that had been missed.
Upon entering, the grandson saw the place where the bed once was; it had left marks on the wall and in the floor. Rain pattered on the window outside, and every once and a while a lightning flash would illuminate the room. Just before the grandson turned to go, a bolt of lightning struck and the whole room lit up, and he saw what looked like a small “G” on the wall.
The grandson was stunned. He walked up to the wall and sure enough, there was a letter on the wall. He touched it with his right hand, and a small door opened up in the wall. Upon looking inside, the grandson saw a ton of papers, badges, and awards. There were writings and newspaper clippings scattered throughout the small closet. And in front of it all was a thin black book with the letters JOURNAL across the top. The grandson extracted the journal and opened to the first page. He gasped when he saw that it was the property of his grandfather who had died two years ago, the one he had not known very well.
The beginning of his book was simple enough, just telling the reader that the words that he wrote were true and that if someone were to read the book, they could benefit from it. The grandson turned the pages of this small book and saw amazing pictures of legendary pokemon such as Mew, Celebi, and Jirachi. This is beyond belief, the grandson thought as he saw a lovely picture of a Gardevoir holding hands with a pokemon he had never seen before, but looked deformed and repulsive. Many chapters were in this journal, each telling of significant events that Darren Diamond had experienced in his life.
The grandson spent hours sitting in his grandfather’s bedroom reading the small book. After a while, he reached the end when Celebi had shown Darren the future. A small tear trickled down the grandson’s face as he realized that his grandfather was a hero, a master of pokemon, something that he had always wanted to achieve, but had never been able to. He finally reached the last page, which struck him the deepest. It read:

How My Life Has Changed Me
I will not pretend to say that my life was at all easy for me. In fact, it was more difficult than the lives of many I have come in contact with throughout my life. I have, however, had my beautiful wife Eve to aid and comfort me ever since the day that I had met her. I have also had the help of my beloved Gardevoir who softened my soul when I was angry, who lifted me up when I was down, and who gave her very life so as to save mine. I think that the only way that I could have achieved my destiny in life without these two important figures to help me whenever I needed them.
Yet, if you have read through the experiences that I have had in my life, you will understand that I had a destiny so large and so grand. I had saved the world from destruction in more than two ways; I saved the present and I saved the future. But now I wonder what I should do now that I have accomplished my destiny. It seems as if my life is now just low key, slow and unmoving, like a stagnant lake. I feel as if there is no more purpose in life other than my duty to Eve to remain her husband until we part. And life is sad now, nothing to do now except for to think of what I had done in my life. I am not ashamed of anything that I have done in my life, and am proud of the things that I have done, but I know now that soon I will have to lie down and never arise. I believe that my Gardevoir will be there to carry me to the place that she called the Netherworld.
It has been very trying after I had “saved the world”. I have had to bury all of my pokemon save Gengar, who I released into the wild to search for another trainer. Every time my thoughts drift to my Salamence, Gyarados, Espeon, and Tyranitar, a tear comes to my eye. They’re buried in all parts of the world, the places that they liked the best, and it was all I could do to send them off with my love. It is only Eve and I that remain.
The words that I have written may seem impossible. Honestly, I wouldn’t believe them myself if I found them, but there is proof. If you are ever to stumble across the clone pokemon Mewtwo, ask him about the one called Darren Diamond and the works that he did. Gardevoir is a part of Mewtwo now, and still keeps in contact with me from time to time, and I am sure that will not change when I am in the Netherworld.
And now to the reader of this small note, I ask you to keep this journal and the papers that accompany it and treasure them. Show them to the world so that they can know that the world they live in is now safe, and that even though things might come to pass that seem overwhelming, they should know that it will all be for a greater good. I leave my words with you.

D.D.

The grandson was shocked in the things that he had read. His grandfather had been a hero, and had lived a hero’s life. From the little that he knew about him he had thought him to be a boring old man, but now he greatly respected him as a friend that he never knew.
The grandson emptied the small compartment of all the small papers and books and put them under his arm. He clutched the journal with his right hand, and slowly walked out of the room, turning the light off behind him. He was reverent, for he knew that the walls of this ancient house once harbored the most heroic man of all time, Darren Diamond. He slowly walked out of the house.
A beautiful young woman was waiting for him, and the rain had just lifted. A beam of light poured down upon the house and made the grandson feel more respect for his grandfather. The young woman asked, “What took you so long? You were in there forever!”
The grandson smiled. He held up the journal to show her, and as he did, he looked towards the sky. For just a second he thought he saw something that looked like a picture in the journal in the sky, and then it was gone. Could it have been this legendary Mewtwo? the grandson thought as he got into the car with the young woman. Maybe what his grandfather wrote was true. As the car sped off into the distance, the beam of light on the house faded, and the rain came swiftly back. The house groaned as if under some enormous weight, for it no longer held a hero or the descendant of one.
“It is done,” Mewtwo said as he alighted upon the roof of the old house, and with that, the house collapsed to the ground. He took one final look at the wreckage, and then flew off into the distance.
THE END
